About
Karl M. Francis, Jr., M.D. FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon. He performs surgical cases robotically whenever possible, often allowing for smaller incisions and faster heal times. Dr. Francis has a special interest in robotic hernia repairs (inguinal and ventral hernias), cholecystectomy (robotic and laparoscopic), colon and small bowel surgery, and breast surgery for cancer and breast masses.
A native of Utah, Dr. Francis received his bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Utah. He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, and completed his residency at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Prior to joining Tennova Surgery - Clarksville, Dr. Francis practiced in Farmington, New Mexico, for 2 years and in Provo, Utah, for 15 years, focusing on general and trauma surgery.
